This week was the first in several months that we didn't have a pre-selected, conveniently packaged box of fresh, organic fruits and veggies from our CSA. I canceled our subscription for the time being since the Farmers' Market (one of my very favorite pleasures in life) is open! The sights and sounds of the market delight me, and I love seeing the variety of produce change as we move through the seasons.
I ventured out there today with my new camera, but was only able to stay for about 15 minutes before it started pouring. Oh well, just a fact of life in Oregon in the springtime. I'm trying to work on being less self-conscious about taking pictures in crowded places though. For some reason I feel like the farmers won't like me shooting their produce. I know that sounds ridiculous. I'm working on it.
- Baby bok choy
- Rapini (broccoli rabe)
- Locally made jam for my mom for Mothers' Day (Hi Mom!). I already told her about it, I'm bad at surprises.
- A gorgeous hellebore bouquet. The sweet lady who sold it to me invited me out to her flower farm to pick flowers and take pictures this summer!
