In the last few weeks, I've found myself in quite the little medical pickle, so I haven't had much to blog about. Please don't leave because you think I spelled ridiculous wrong (I never spell things wrong, I promise!).
Actually, I have a condition called radiculopathy (and I am highly amused by its similarity to words beginning with "ridiculo-"). In simpler terms, it's a herniated disc compressing a nerve, causing massive amounts of pain in addition to numbness and muscle weakness in my leg/foot. There was no trauma or anything specific that happened; I had been having mild pain for about a month, and then was suddenly crippled by excessive cleaning one night 2 weeks ago.
Needless to say, I haven't been up and about playing house recently. I'm doing everything possible within my power to get better quickly so we can enjoy our rapidly approaching honeymoon! The pain is much, much better, which I am so thankful for because that was the worst. I'm keeping an eye on the numbness and weakness, am on steroids, physical therapy, trying acupuncture next week, saw a neurosurgeon, and that's about all for now.
Please think good thoughts that I'll be able to hike a glacier and jump off a waterfall in a few weeks!
