I just got home from the Tuesday Market. It's a beautiful day, and there were lots of people out. And dogs. What the hell? Damn rulebreakers ruin everyone's fun. Kidding.
I gave myself $20 to spend, and I spent $20.60! I'm pretty proud, considering I just grabbed armfuls of stuff, not looking at the price. I must say, I kick ass at estimating stuff. Like, we invited 308 people to our wedding, and a year out I guessed that 150 would come... 150 people exactly were there that day.
Anyways, guess what! It's berrytomatoberrytomatoberrytomato time! Just the very beginnings of tomatoes, and I was pretty timid picking them out. I was kind of in awe of the yellow ones as big as my head (and I have a pretty large head), and I forgot to take pictures. You might call it a tomato contact high. So I got 3 smallish ones...one from the red bin (Brandywines I think/hope), one from the green bin, and one from the yellow bin.
*Lemon cukes (Andy's fav)
*Crazy-ass curly Armenian cuke
*Bag o' spinach
Hopefully we're going berry picking with Eric and Shelby this weekend. I really want to make a raspberry (or anyberry) pie, but the berries at the Farmers' Market are ridiculously expensive. It would probably cost about $25 for enough ingredients to make a pie. The most recent issue of Cooking Light has an article on how to make a lattice pie crust. I'm so excited to try it!
I have no idea what I'm going to do with all this goodness for dinner. I have some chicken defrosting. Maybe I'll break out the bible.
